Inductor An inductor is one of the most frequently used basic passive electrical component in electrical circuit.Its nothing but a piece of long conducting wire that is wound into a coil.You have a long conducting wire and you can use it to connect this conducting wire to flow current and in this case this wire will just act a path that will flow current. But when you wound this wire into a coil , then it is called inductor. Before going to discuss in details about inductor, we just want to give a glance about its application in practical life. Mainly inductor does the following work in an electric circuit. 1. Inductor passes DC current but block AC current 2. Inductor uses as a filter in electronic circuit 3.Inductor stores energy in the form of magnetic field in an electronic circuit. This are the main functions of an inductor in an electronic circuit and using this properties we can use inductor at various ways in our practical life. Now come to the point. W

Capacitor A   capacitor  is a   passive two-terminal electrical component   that stores electrical   energy in an   electric field . The effect of a capacitor is known as   capacitance . While capacitance exists between any two electrical conductors of a circuit in sufficiently close proximity, a capacitor is specifically designed to provide and enhance this effect for a variety of practical applications by consideration of size, shape, and positioning of closely spaced conductors, and the intervening   dielectric material. Basic Electrical Components There are two types of elements found in electric circuits :  1.  passive elements and  2. active elements.  An active element is capable of generating energy while a passive element is not . Examples of passive element are resistors, capacitors and inductors . Typical active elements include generators, batteries and operational amplifiers. Resistor A resistor is an electrical component that limits or regulates the flow of electrical  current   in an electronic circuit. Resistors can also be used to provide a specific  voltage   for an active device such as a   transistor .
